What is a video editing agent?
A video editing agent can interpret a brief, inspect the available project and use tools or code to make changes. A useful workflow leaves you with an editable composition: titles, timing, media references and visual layers that you can continue to adjust. The agent proposes creative decisions through its work; you decide whether the result communicates what you intended.
VibeClip is being built around the same project for the Agent and the visual editor. Your installed agent edits project files. The canvas and timeline reload those changes, so you can review the result in context instead of moving between separate exports.
A conversation with a visible result
Start with the media and a short brief. Specify what the viewer should understand, the desired duration, the aspect ratio and the elements that must stay unchanged. Then ask for a small, observable edit.
Turn this product recording into a 30-second feature introduction. Open with “Find your next idea.” Use the recording as the main visual. Add one short callout when the search results appear. Keep the original product colors.
Review the opening, the callout timing and the final frame. A focused follow-up such as “hold the result screen two seconds longer” is easier to evaluate than asking the agent to make everything more engaging.
Our prompt-based editing guide breaks down this process and includes a reusable brief.
Where the native editor fits
The visual canvas is where you inspect the frame and adjust editable layers. The timeline is where you evaluate pacing and the relationship between picture, titles and sound. The inspector exposes available properties. Code gives you a way to express repeated layouts, animation and composition logic.
VibeClip’s architecture uses Vibeframe for composition, with a native SwiftUI interface. Some values are calculated in code and do not expose direct visual controls; those changes belong in code or in a follow-up to the Agent.
Claude Code and Codex
The current integration work targets installed Claude Code and Codex agents. You choose and authenticate the agent separately. VibeClip does not currently offer a public hosted agent service or promise that a model subscription is included.
Project rendering and media handling are designed around a local workspace. Agent providers may receive information according to their tools, permissions and service settings. “Local project” should not be read as “every AI request stays on the device.”
Creative control includes checking the work
Inspect readable text, source footage, brand names, timing and sound. Code-driven changes are adopted by the editor; UI undo is for edits made through the editor. Use version control when you need to roll back changes to project code.
Before publishing, watch an exported file from beginning to end. A plausible Agent summary is not proof of a correct video.
Where development stands
Agent, canvas, timeline and export integrations are under active development. Native end-to-end validation is still in progress. There is no public download or published pricing. Join early access if you want updates about this workflow.
